PickPocket Foragers are fully washable/tumble dryable fleece feeders in which dogs hunt for treats inside pockets. They are simple to use, easy to launder and bring all the benefits of foraging into your dog’s home.

Our PickPocket foraging bundle is a fantastic addition to our range. Included are our best selling products: our foraging bag, caterpillar and three foraging pouches. Fill the caterpillar and pouches with treats and place them inside the foraging bag, which has pockets on the inside that are also filled with treats. This creates a rich and dynamic foraging environment by engaging the seeking circuit and exercising your dog’s natural instinct to search for food.

This combination of products has a high level of difficulty and so if your dog is elderly or very young, please adapt the foraging environment accordingly to avoid any frustration or them becoming over tired. This can be done by using the products separately, placing large treats in the pockets and using a high number of treats to keep the reward ratio high.

The foraging bag can also be taken ‘on the go’
as it has a handy carrying cord. Please open the bag fully when in use. It can also be used as a bag to tidy away foragers not being used, keeping it out of your dog’s way until next time.

Our foraging bag come in three sizes:

  • Small for dogs up to small terrier size such as JRT
  • 32 pockets, each pocket is 8cm deep x 15cm wide
  • Total size approx. 52 cm high x 60cm wide

  • Medium/large for dogs English Springer spaniel size and above (excluding giant breeds)
  • 30 pockets, each pocket is 8cm deep x 20cm wide
  • Total size approx. 60cm high x 60cm wide

Our Caterpillar comes in three sizes:

  • Small for dogs up to small terrier size such as JRT
  • 150cm long, each pocket 20cm wide and 15cm deep
  • Total pockets 14

  • Small flat-faced breeds for pugs and other small brachycephalic breeds
  • 150cm long, each pocket 30cm wide and 10cm deep
  • Total pockets 10

  • Medium/large for spaniel size dogs
  • 150cm long, each pocket 25cm wide and 15cm deep
  • Total pockets 12

Our foraging pouches come in two sizes:

  • Small flat-faced breeds for pugs and other small brachycephalic breeds 20cm x 10 cm
  • One-size for most other breeds 20cm x 20cm

Our foragers are suitable for all ages and all breeds and can be successfully used by brachycephalic (flat faced) dogs. They are ideal mental stimulation for dogs on post-operative care, on restricted exercise or for those with reduced mobility due to arthritic conditions. Eating from the foraging bag can provide these dogs with a few minutes gentle weight-bearing exercise. Foraging games are especially beneficial to senior dogs with cognitive dysfunction and ‘golden oldies’ whose other senses may be in decline and who come to rely more on olfaction. The foraging blanket is especially suited to visually impaired dogs, senior dogs and puppies as the skill level required is easy yet the game is highly rewarding, satisfying and safe.

HAPPY FORAGING!

IMPORTANT!! PLEASE ONLY USE THE FORAGING BAG WHEN IT IS FULLY OPEN WITH YOUR DOG, SO THAT THE CARRYING CORD IS FULLY ENCLOSED WITHIN THE NECK OF THE BAG. DO NOT USE PARTLY OPENED.

PLEASE CONTACT US FOR FLAT FACED BREEDS AND TO DISCUSS CUSTOM FLEECES.

Warning! Some owners are concerned that their dog will chew the fleece, however most dogs find foraging so immensely rewarding that this instinct usually overrides their desire to bite the fabric. Please ALWAYS supervise your dog and follow the instructions for use on the packaging to minimise risk. No dog should be left alone with any of the PickPocket Forager range as ingesting fabric could lead to serious medical issues. If you have any concerns or suspect your dog has swallowed some fabric, please consult your veterinary surgeon immediately.
